Adverb (ক্রিয়া বিশেষণ)

The word that modifies a verb, an adjective, another adverb or a phrase or a clause is called an adverb.

(ইংরেজিতে যে শব্দ অন্য একটি Verb, Adjective, Adverb বা শব্দগুচ্ছ কিংবা বাক্যাংশকে বিশেষিত করে,  তাকে Adverb বলে।)

যেমন- Very, Fast, Already, Almost, Slowly, Quickly ইত্যাদি।

Position in a Sentence (বাক্যে অবস্থান)

সাধারণত Adverb একটি Verb এর পরে, Adjective এর পূর্বে অথবা অন্য একটি Adverb এর পূর্বে বসে।

Uses of Adverb in Sentences (বাক্যে Adverb এর ব্যবহার)

I run fast.

She eats slowly.

It is very beautiful.

He tried hardly.

He walks very slow.

It is so nice.

He cried loudly.

It rains heavily.

It is simply impossible.

It is usually hot.

Kinds of Adverb (Adverb এর প্রকারভেদ)

Adverbs are divided into three main categories. They are-

1. Simple Adverb
2. Relative Adverb
3. Interrogative Adverb

Simple Adverbs are of eight kinds. They are-
1. Adverb of Time
2. Adverb of Place
3. Adverb of Manner
4. Adverb of Degree
5. Adverb of Reason or Purpose
6. Adverb of Affirmation and Negation
7. Intensifiers
8. Down-toners

Again, Interrogative Adverbs can be classified into eight classes. They are-

1. Interrogative Adverb of place
2. Interrogative Adverb of time
3. Interrogative Adverb of reason
4. Interrogative Adverb of manner
5. Interrogative Adverb of number
6. Interrogative Adverb of quantity
7. Interrogative Adverb of frequency
8. Interrogative Adverb of degree
