Verb

The word or words expressing action, a state of being, or a happening is called a verb. (ইংরেজিতে যে শব্দ দ্বারা কোনো কিছু করা, হওয়া বা থাকা বুঝায়, তাকে Verb বলে।)
যেমন- Take, make, eat, run, go, see ইত্যাদি।


Position in a Sentence (বাক্যে অবস্থান)
সাধারণত Verb একটি বাক্যে Noun বা Pronoun এর পরে বসে।


Uses of Verb in Sentences (বাক্যে Verb এর ব্যবহার)

I am a student.
She likes me.
They are boys.
This is for you.
He is in the room.
It is over your head.
He goes by the bus.
It is mine.
We are strong.
You are a good girl.



Kinds of Verb (Verb এর প্রকারভেদ)

Verbs are classified in four different ways. In each category, there are two kinds of Verb. So, in total there are eight kinds of Verb.

1. Firstly, Verb can be divided into two kinds. They are-
(a) Principal Verb (প্রধান ক্রিয়া)
(b) Auxiliary Verb/Helping Verb (সাহায্যকারী ক্রিয়া)

2. Secondly, Verb can be divided into two kinds. They are-
(a) Transitive Verb (সকর্মক ক্রিয়া)
(b) Intransitive Verb (অকর্মক ক্রিয়া)

3. Thirdly, Verb can be divided into two kinds. They are-
(a) Finite Verb (সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া)
(b) Non-finite Verb (অসমাপিকা ক্রিয়া)

4. Fourthly, Verb can be divided into two kinds. They are-
(a) State Verb (অবস্থাধর্মী ক্রিয়া)
(b) Event Verb (ঘটনাধর্মী ক্রিয়া)
